The holidays are right around the corner, and if you’re a social media manager, you are likely wondering how on earth you can relax this time of year. The holidays are a great time to connect your brand to your audience on social. With so many commitments, it can seem overwhelming for you, as the community manager, when it comes to work/life balance.

Here are three tips to ensure a merry holiday season.

Create Your Messages Ahead of Time

If you expect higher amounts of customer service needs on your social channels, make sure you come up with a messaging strategy with your team before the holidays strike. Share a photo or change your cover photo to reflect that your business is enjoying the holidays this time of year, too, and tell your customers how they can best reach you during this time.

Peace on Earth, and In the Workplace

If you manage a team of social media specialists, set clear expectations with them. Communicate how many times a day is reasonable to check in, especially on actual holidays themselves.

Time to Live Out Your Company Values

Take this opportunity to weave in your company’s values, especially if family is one of them. With your holiday messaging in place, your audience will get the feel that if you care about your employees and their families, you’ll certainly care about your customers, too.
